This is the place for shade. Mountain living with tall stately pines, aspens, full willows and very large boulders is the setting for light to deep shade. You may be the exception if your home is in full sun but somewere on your property you will have pockets of shade. With shade, the planting speaks of more textual leaves, subtle colors and a cool, soft, relaxing space. Shade gardens are among my favorite. In the quiet depths of the shade your tactal senses of touch and smell are appreciated within that quiet presence.
