walls, pathways, patios and more.
Large boulders in the landscape create the scale needed with the tall pines that
surround us. Appropriate placement of boulders on the site can feel as thought
your home grew from the ground as an "out-croping".
Stone connect us to nature and our surroundings adding continuity and flow.
Walls and paths pull us along drawing us deeper into the garden and into separate
areas that are hidden from view.
Stone may be stacked without mortar as in a "dry-stacked' wall or a mortared
stonewall where the stone is faced onto a structure shuch as cinder block.
Walls over thirty inches must be engineered to insure structural strength.
Pathways may be mortared or set in gravel, soil or de-composed granite'
